
PRESIDENTS MESSAGE
October 13th we
celebrate Thanksgiving in
Starting in 1870, Thanksgiving Day
was proclaimed as an annual holiday, although the date varied from year to
year. In the early years it celebrated an abundant harvest and was a general
thanksgiving to Almighty God for the bountiful harvests with which the people
were blessed. The day selected was the second Monday in October.
We should be thankful and
appreciate a way of life that despite all its faults, has given Canadians the
best that the world can devise, including the right to complain, freedom of speech,
the right to do our share to make is all work. And it will not work unless we
each do our share.

campaign to raise money for the

plans as time goes on. We will need to be involved- the Board, the staff and
the members. WE need your enthusiasm, your spirit and your physical help to
make this work. We can do it if we are willing to be involved. We will keep you
informed, but know that it is on the way! We will be asking for leadership,
work and gifts, but most importantly, for all to be involved.
